Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years following their departure so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
