Kai Trump will have plenty of prominent supporters as she makes her LPGA debut later this week.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, obtained a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.

The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several international courses and frequently plays against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."

"He basically told me to play and enjoy myself," she explained.

"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on running the country, so he's quite busy."

Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments in 2024 and has ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.

However she can receive tips from golf legend, who is dating Vanessa.

"He stands as the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.

"Additionally, he's an even better human being. He told me to compete, have fun, adapting to the flow."

The golfer will compete against some of most prominent players in professional golf at the Annika, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

Officials mentioned that involving Kai helps introduce the sport to wider groups, specifically reaching youth audiences.

The social media influencer has millions of followers and just introduced her own apparel and wellness company.

Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
